Example Investigations

Each of these investigations has been implemented and revised several times as part our co-design work. The investigations are designed to address the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for 2nd and 5th grades, but they could be adapted to be used in other grade levels.

The pages linked below provide information about the flow of activity in each investigation and how uncertainty arises throughout the investigations. You can access a Google Driver folder that includes lesson plans, supplemental information for teachers, and student-facing materials.

To use these investigations, we recommend downloading a copy of the lesson plans and materials so that you can revise them as needed for your context. If using or adapting these, please either keep the attribution footer with copyright information, or cite as “Adapted from [Investigation Title], developed by the Investigations Project (investigationsproject.org)”
